Shepton Vets is in the heart of Somerset at the foothills of the Mendips, yet only 30 minutes from Bristol and Bath. We work with over 100 dairy clients (plus beef, sheep and small holdings) striving to provide an excellent service through routine visits and herd health work.
The successful candidate will be good at working with clients, forming long lasting, trusting relationships. We deliver lots of farmer training courses, teach Bristol students and provide export services alongside our core veterinary work. We are a large, friendly team of 13 vets, 5 TB testers and Vet techs, our TB team carry out over 80% of the TB testing. Our team provides a supportive environment for new graduates to develop and we allow vets to follow any areas of clinical interest.
We enjoy a good out of hours rota that is generally quiet (1 in 6, mix of first and second on call). We work a 4.5-day week or 9-day fortnight. We offer all the kit you would expect plus specialist equipment and required training (including laparoscopic LDA corrections). The practice actively encourages CPD, with many of the team holding certificates.
