Overview: Small group practical dentistry, covering the basics of routine dentistry and the common problems encountered in first-opinion practice.
This comprehensive course is specifically designed to support first-opinion veterinarians in mastering essential dentistry techniques. Led by experienced first-opinion vet Rowan Pyzer, the program offers an immersive, full-day practical dentistry experience. With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, each pair of delegates will have dedicated access to a cadaver, working alongside a skilled RVN to refine their techniques. This unique opportunity ensures an optimal learning environment, allowing participants to build confidence and proficiency in routine veterinary dentistry.
Attendees will be taught the latest and safest extraction techniques for dog dentals. The practical aspect of the course allows the delegates to work on cadaver heads to practice their extraction and suturing techniques, with plenty of supervision and practical advice.
- Covering theory, to refresh knowledge on anatomy and equipment
- Practical session with cadavers covering extractions, suturing techniques, and using hand tools
- Working in pairs with an RVN on radiography
