Haywood Farm Vets is an independently-owned farm practice, covering local farms in the beautiful Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside. Our vision is to deliver a bespoke, personal veterinary service to our clients and provide outstanding, modern veterinary care to their farms.
We have a diverse range of clients, farms, and systems, but they all share a common goal - they want to work closely with us, to monitor performance, collaborate, share knowledge, and build expertise in their teams. Our farmers see the value in our close working relationship, and our client base is continuing to grow based on our excellent reputation.
As vets, we recognise the importance of job satisfaction, career progression and a sustainable work-life balance, and we're creating a practice that puts our people and those priorities at its core. We are a team that collaborates, communicates, and values our diferent skill sets. Our values and ethos are incredibly important to us, and we need our expanding team to embrace our vision - but your ideas and aspirations can be an integral part of how HFV develops. We aim to attract, develop, and retain the very best vets in our team.
As a practice, we've taken time to reflect on which traditions bring value to us as vets (and as humans!), as well as those that bring value to our clients. This means we have embraced some important changes to the way we work in order to make being a farm vet an attractive, long-term, sustainable career path that we're proud to be a part of.
We promise not to become busy fools; and to remain independent. You won't be driving for hours between calls. No one works more than a 4-day week. We understand and value the benefits of flexible working, and that isn't just for parents. Our working day finishes early every day as standard.
Our progressive and skilled client base ensures our day-to-day work is engaging, and our on-call is quiet and if you are called out, their setup is superb, and they say thank you. Everyone has their own scanner. There will always be someone at the end of the phone if you are stuck, and none of us are too proud to ask for help. Our TB work involves efficient TB testing with brews and bacon butties, and we treat TB as an infectious disease - the majority of our clients engage fully in CHeCS accreditation or entry-level TB schemes. We embrace technology in making everything a bit more efficient, but we are not remote, and make time for pub lunches, dog walks, and practice meetings. We will never chase KPIs; we will simply trust you to work proactively in our clients' best interest; and we will fully support your personal CPD plan.
We want you to love being a vet with us at HFV, but to have time, opportunity, and energy to live life too. Interested candidates should send a CV and a covering letter to mail@haywoodfarmvets.com by 31st March 2025.
